Getting started

Opengraphly creates dynamic Open Graph images. Instead of uploading a new image every time your headline or numbers change, you paste one URL into your site and let Opengraphly render the current version.

Before you start

You need a Opengraphly account and access to the SEO or page settings for the site where the image will be used. You do not need to install a package or write code unless your platform requires it.

1

Create a template

Open the Opengraphly dashboard and select New template. Give it a clear name, such as "Homepage preview" or "Latest article".

2

Choose a layout

Pick Classic, Split, Minimal, or Metric. You can switch later, but changing layouts resets the available text slots to match the new structure.

3

Add your content

Edit each slot in the control panel. Start with manual text. Adjust the font, colours, logo, spacing, and alignment until the preview feels like your brand.

4

Save the template

Select Save. Opengraphly gives the template a permanent image URL in this format:

https://opengraphly.com/api/og/YOUR_TEMPLATE_ID
5

Paste the URL into your site

Put the URL in your site's Open Graph image field. The exact location depends on your platform. See the embed guide for copy-and-paste examples.

6

Test a shared link

Publish your changes, then use your social platform's preview debugger or send the link in a private message. Social networks cache previews, so an old image can remain visible for a while even after Opengraphly has updated.

What happens next

The URL never changes. When you update the template, the next render uses the new design and data. You do not need to replace the URL in your site.
